|Back to TopOk. So here is the story about these gorgeous people. It all started with Michael and Ivey… they got married, and had the beautiful Sophia! They never thought they would ever have any more children! haha. But about 2 years ago they made the amazing decision to foster~! So they took all the classes and got ready to go! The first call they got was for 3 brothers who were found in a meth lab just 5 minutes away, ages (4,3, and 1 years old) .They were malnourished and in desperate need of some lovin. Of course, being the most amazing people EVER, Michael and Ivey took these boys in immediately. They loved them as if they were their own children. The minute these 3 boys walked into the Ketterer home, their lives were changed in an instant. All of the brokenness, abuse, and despair they had been born into was immediately erased because Michael, Ivey, and Sophia decided to sacrifice and love!!!!!!!! Jared, who was 4 at the time would ask quite frequently if he would ever have to go back to the “other house”, Michael and Ivey would just have to tell them they will fight for them until they could be their sons! And now a year and a half later they are officially Ketterer boys! It makes me cry writing this right now because this has truly been a life changing experience for me. Watching how my friends, well.. pretty much family, have laid down everything for these children. This is how we should ALL live. LOVE is such a powerful thing, it changes lives. These people are Jesus lovers and you can see it in their eyes, and in everything they do. I want to be like them some day!
They also are fostering another little boy right now and in the process of adopting him also! We can’t post photos of him because he is not officially “their’s” yet! But don’t you worry. I will be posting another blog as SOON as that is official !!!!!
So. All of that to say. I LOVE THE KETTERER FAMILY! We all can learn so much from the way they love and accept people EXACTLY as they are! They are my heros!

A favorite song of mine “Dusty Road” comes to mind :) The un-ending, relentless love of a Father which is so beautifully portrayed in those lyrics, puts skin on through these pictures and the story. While I don’t know you personally, you are dear to friends of ours: Adam and Morgan Carpenter. Your story is an inspiration to love deeply and risk in the name of representing the Father heart of God. Thank you for your investment into these precious children….it will be amazing to see where the Lord takes them!!! Bless you abundantly!!!
Brit! AMAZING photos, incredible blog, rock ‘n roll forever. :)
Ivey and Michael, These pictures are as beautiful as you guys are! Sofia is such a beautiful young lady and the boys are adorable and you two are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing with friends. God’s blessings be with all of you! Miss seeing your smilig faces but seeing them on facebook helps. Keep up the good work. Love you all, Joyce.
Beautiful. Just all of it…all of them. Beautiful.
I have known these two wonderful people for a long time. Watching how they have grown as people has been a great blessing. It is rare to find two people so perfect for one another. They love deeply and it radiates from them. It fills my heart with great delight that they have been blessed with such an amazing family.
Ivey and I both teered up reading this! We love you so much Brit. Thanks again for these amazing photos. You are truly talented!
I was eating a sandwich and the bread almost fell out of my mouth… what a truly GORGEOUS family! Wow. These boys are seriously going to flourish in their new home.
I think I had WAY too much fun shooting this wedding :) Hilary & Kyle are the sweetest couple EVER, and were gorgeous in their wedding gear! Hilary did a fantastic job planning!!! Everything was so organized and totally stress free. It was so fun to see all the little details she put into the decorations too! She hand made ALL of the guys bow ties! And they were amazing. Here is a link to her business COMING SOON! http://theperfectbowtie.com/ !!!! PERFECT for weddings!
Anyways. We had a blast. Tons of young college students dancing the night away. That’s how weddings should be. PARTY! CELEBRATION! It was never made to be a production. And we should never forget the reason weddings exist.
Fun times.
Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Oh happy day these are GORGEOUS!!!! Your work is fantastic. And you captured the mood of the day perfectly! So much joy haha! Can’t wait to see more :)
LOVE this!
Today we went to “The Shuk”. It was quite the experience! This is where the locals get their produce, bread, and meats. It was the most beautiful place to take photos, everything was SUPER picturesque. I can’t even believe how gorgeous the culture is here in Jerusalem. So much history, color, and GLORY! Here are some photos from my time there… I tried to capture it the best I could. But I don’t think anyone could really understand until you are HERE-
